Romania Flag

Romania flag in 1992, had the shield.
The shield was approved by Parliament on September 27, 1992.

In the shield, a blue field, offers a golden eagle with beak and claws gules, holding in its beak a golden Orthodox cross, and with claws, a scepter and a silver sword, symbols of sovereignty: Sable is a representation of whom belonged to vayvode of Moldavia, Stephen the Great (1433-1504) and the scepter of Michael the Brave (1593-1601), prince of Transylvania, Wallachia and Moldova. In the eagle's chest is a shield quartered with the arms of the historical Romanian provinces (Wallachia, Moldavia, Transylvania, Banat and Crişana) with cheurrón where two dolphins are a symbol of the country's maritime region.

Since 1994 Romania ags only with three colors.
The blue was first associated with freedom, (the blue sky), yellow and justice, wealth, intelligence (yellow fields) and red with brotherhood, honesty, honor to the country (the blood red)
On 26 June each year is celebrated Flag Day (Ziua Tricolorului in Romanian), which is a national holiday in Romania.
